Terms of Service

From the booking form (Smoobu): – required: first name, last name, email, phone, country, stay dates, number of guests – optional: address, notes, arrival time – payment status and the amount paid (we do not store full card numbers)

From email, phone or Instagram if you contact us: – the details you choose to send

From the website: – technical data such as IP address, browser and pages viewed (Squarespace hosting; cookies if you accept them)

At check-in, for Croatian guest registration: – identity data from your passport or ID (name, date of birth, nationality, document number and the other fields eVisitor requires)

– to take, confirm and manage your booking (contract) – to take payment (contract) – to send arrival information and answer you (contract / legitimate interest) – to register every guest in eVisitor and handle sojourn tax (legal obligation in Croatia) – to keep invoices and accounts (legal obligation) – to keep the house safe and handle damage claims (legitimate interest) – to send offers only if you separately ask for them (consent)

You can book without filling optional fields. You cannot complete a booking without the required fields.

We do not sell guest data.

We share what is needed with:

– Smoobu GmbH, Pappelallee 78/79, 10437 Berlin, Germany Booking software and inbox. Privacy policy: https://www.smoobu.com/en/privacy-policy/

– the payment provider you use at checkout (for example Stripe or Apple Pay)

– Squarespace, which hosts this website

– the Croatian eVisitor system, the local tourist board and other authorities when the law requires it

– service people who need a name or arrival time to prepare the house (cleaning, maintenance), only as needed

Smoobu is based in Germany. Payment and hosting providers may process data in the EU or, with safeguards, in other countries. We use them only to run the booking and the site.

– booking and accounting records: as long as Croatian tax and accounting rules require – eVisitor-related identity data: as required by Croatian tourist-registration rules – messages that are not part of a booking: usually up to 24 months – marketing contacts: until you ask us to stop

Under the GDPR you may ask us to access the data we hold about you, correct it, delete it where the law allows, restrict or object to certain processing, receive a copy in a portable format, or withdraw consent (for example marketing) without affecting a past booking.

If you are not satisfied, you can complain to the Croatian Personal Data Protection Agency (AZOP), https://azop.hr, or to the authority in your EU country.

The site and booking form are meant for adults booking a stay. We do not knowingly take bookings from children. Guest names of children in a family booking are used only for the stay and for eVisitor.

The site is hosted on Squarespace and may set cookies needed to run the pages (language, security, load). Analytics or marketing cookies, if enabled, run only with the consent tool Squarespace shows.

We may update this page. The date at the top is the current version. For a confirmed booking, the version at the time you booked still explains that booking.
